Want something a bit different to the diode clipping overdrives. The Mozztronics HGF-1 High Gain Fuzz is the answer.

We here at Mozztronics have been inspired by ye olden days pedals of yore, especially the benders and muff pedals. We looked at all of these before setting out to do our own version. We love how a muff sounds, and the big mid scoop sounds great when you are listening to an instrument on its own, but stick that sound in a band mix and it just gets lost. That will not do. We also wanted to make a single pedal that worked equally well on both guitar and bass without loss or flabbiness on the bottom end. We wanted it to be an angry pedal but still with a smoothness of early “Gilmour” tones.

This is the end result of our endeavours, based on classic Fuzz circuits from the 1960’s and 1970’s, we added our own touches, to enhance versatility, while keeping the touch sensitivity and enhancing clarity

But we know you want more, so we added a switch to take the fuzz from tight and compressed to a more open sound while retaining the dirt, and a two band eq, not just a tone control. We use ultra high gain Silicon transistors for your aural pleasure. We also enhanced the bottom end response (while still keeping it tight and not flubby) to make it usable for those responsible for the low end in a band.

FUZZ controls the amount of dirt from medium gain to very nasty & gnarly tones, TRE controls the amount of treble in the output, BASS controls the amount of bass in the output, and VOL adjusts the overall volume out of the pedal.
We added a TIGHT switch to go between a tighter and a more open sound.

This is great for crunchy dirty rhythm and soaring lead tones, especially when the FUZZ control is turned up high.

Why is there an exploding head cartoon on this pedal I hear you ask, well, when we at Mozztronics were prototyping this pedal, it ripped, roared and sang with so much gnarly fuzziness it blew our minds.

Johnny from the band 19twenty tried out the HGF1 on his upright bass on their recent tour of WA, Here is what Johnny said:
“Hey Andrew!
So we landed in Sydney tonight, after a full weekend of Perth club and festival gigs. What a ripper of a time!
I thought I’d let you know that the Mozztronics High Gain Fuzz made this weekend an absolute TREAT for us, and for the audiences!!
It’s everything a bass-player looks for in a fuzz pedal — if my Sovtek Tall Font Russian and Boss Hyper-Fuzz had a baby, this would be the little gremlin!
The top-end fizzy-fuzzy goodness is right on point AND the low-end is still all there (without getting muddy!!).
How in the world have you accomplished this?!?!
When I dialed back the gain I got Stevie Wonder type synth tones, but my fave setting is with gain, bass & treble CRANKED and volume at 12:00. This CAN. NOT. BE. BEAT!!
All night, all I wanted to do was smash out the Muse riff from Hysteria, but alas I’m not a member of a Muse cover band…
If I were sitting, I’d give this pedal a standing ovation – what a ripping fuzz – I can’t wait to melt some faces at Byron Bay Bluesfest with this thing ❤🤘❤🤘❤🤘

Wow, Thanks Johnny, i dont have to tell you to turn it up loud, thats a given 🤘

Salv from Perth plays in several tribute bands in WA, one of which is “Mashing Potatoes”. The muff he uses to get Corgan tones means he often cant hear what he’s playing due to the huge savage mid scoop on a muff. Salv recently got my HGF1 high gain fuzz to use instead of his muff, here’s what he said about the HGF1

“Hello again Andrew 👋 As expected the HGF1 sounded amazing. I could hear every riff & my bandmates could hear the difference as well. Tried several setting combos & loved the fuzz, bass on full, treble at 2:00 & vol at 12:00 with switch on up. Gonna keep working with it as the shows continue etc. Thanks again for your incredible pedals 🤟 got 14 now & just love them all!!!
Hearing the high gain fuzz on Saturday night was amazing. Our sound man noticed the difference right from the line check! I heard every riff throughout our set. Used the HGF1, TM1 & AC1 playing mostly Mellon collie material “

Thanks Salv 🤟
